This model was shared by Carlos Roberto Vargas-Llanos (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology)
The shared model uses the homogenized T-A formulation of Maxwell’s equations in the magnetoquasistatic limit to model a planar HTS racetrack coil in 3D. In order to correctly simulate the current flow in the curved regions, a normal vector approach based on a curvilinear coordinate system definition is used. This approach can be used to model coils of more complex shape, such as saddle-shaped coils and non-planar coils (see referenced publication for detail). In order to run the model, please solve the “Curvilinear Study” first.
