The model calculates the penetration of the magnetic field in the cross-section of a superconducting wire in the critical state subjected to a transverse magnetic field.

The figures above show the magnetic vector potential (left) and the current density distribution (right) in an elliptical superconductor subjected to a vertical uniform magnetic field.
